How to take good photos so your ad sells faster

Ads with three or more clear photos get many more calls than ads with one blurry photo. You do not need an expensive camera — any phone works if you follow these steps.
Light is everything
- Use daylight. Take photos outside in the morning or late afternoon, or near a big window. Avoid the yellow light of a room at night.
- Keep the sun behind you, not behind the item, so the item is bright and not a dark shadow.
- Turn off the flash. It makes shiny things glare and colours look wrong.
Clean and simple
- Clean the item first — wipe the phone screen, wash the car, dust the furniture.
- Use a plain background: a wall, a sheet or an open floor. Remove clutter, people and other things from the photo.
The right photos
- Cover photo: the whole item, straight on, filling most of the picture. This is the photo buyers see in the list — make it your best one. On AdLagao you can drag photos to change their order and tap ⭐ to choose the cover.
- Different angles: front, back, both sides and the top.
- Close-ups: the details buyers care about — the car's meter, the phone's battery health, labels, the model number.
- Show any damage honestly. A photo of a small scratch builds trust and saves wasted visits.
Phone tips
- Tap the screen on the item to focus, and hold the phone still.
- Take photos horizontally for cars, furniture and property; vertically for phones, clothes and shoes.
- Do not use filters or heavy editing. Buyers want to see the real item.
Then write a clear title — what it is, the brand and model, and the year — and two or three lines about its condition. AdLagao's "Ad strength" bar tells you what is missing before you post.
